Cleaning a Plastic Piece
One of the most asked questions I get is how do you clean a plastic bong or pipe? My usual advice is to throw away the piece and buy glass. The fact is that there are some people not in a position to have glass. I do not own any acrylic and don’t know how to answer this question. I do know not to use alcohol with plastic. I am puting the question out there and hope you can help. Leave a comment if you have a tip or some solid advice n how to clean a plastic/acrylic pipe or bong.

efferdent works wonders, I don’t use acrylic but it works great on my glass pieces (I doubt it would hurt the acrylic either)

Well, some good ol’ fashion scrubbing, along with some soap and water works for me. but I dumped my acrylic and switched to glass

well 1 thing that works wonders is sunlight liquid
the stuff you use to wash your dishes
not normal soap that doesnt work as good then add some hot water and most of that left over just comes ryt off

High,
To clean acryl bongs use dish soap, hot water, shake a bit and let it sit.
After that; if anything left in the bong, use dishsoap, a little bit of hot water (try to make no foam) and a bit of vegetable oil, that will help your sponge to take all the crap out.
Buy a new sponge after 4 or 5 times ;-)

Two years later and only four replies, none of them actually mentioning that scrubbing plastic can leave grooves which soap residue can then get trapped in, making your smoke impure and nasty. Methylated spirits and rock salt ftw. Swizzle the salt around the edges and it removes any grime. But by now I’m sure you’ve seen the error of your ways and upgraded to a glass piece

My bong is combo of plastic body and copper components. The best way to clean it is to put copper parts in boiling water, added a lot of baking soda and the rest is hard mixing with a spoon while water is boiling, at least 10-15 minutes. It will be much better, if you change used dirty water with clean and do this procedure with added baking soda again. When you decide to stop with this boiling, add baking soda and vinegar in your empty pot. This will remove bad odour, afterwhile boiling water had cleaned up your metal parts.
About the plastic – it could be cleaned pretty easy, so nothing special treatment by my side.
